Pour one out for yet another Cannon cash-in. This shameless 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' clone *barely* made it to the screen, after suffering a host of post-productions issues.
Eventually, however, it made it's debut in all its 'Super Vision 3D' glory (In actuality just that standard 3D technique used in the previous year's 'Friday the 13th: Part III)

It has since been re-released on DVD by Shout! Factory.

The next generation of Griswolds is at it again. New Line Cinema’s “Vacation,” starring Ed Helms (“The Hangover” films) and Christina Applegate (the “Anchorman” films), takes the family on the road for another ill-fated adventure. The film marks Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley’s directorial debut.

Following in his father’s footsteps and hoping for some much-needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Applegate), and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to America’s “favorite family fun park,” Walley World.

Rounding out the cast are Leslie Mann (“The Other Woman”) as Rusty’s sister, Audrey; Skyler Gisondo (“Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb,” “Hard Sell”) and Steele Stebbins (“A Haunted House 2”) as Rusty’s sons, James and Kevin; with Chris Hemsworth (the “Thor” films) in the role of Stone Crandall, Rusty’s irritatingly successful brother-in-law, Beverly D’Angelo and Chevy Chase as Ellen and Clark Griswold from the classic “Vacation” comedies.

Goldstein & Daley (“Horrible Bosses,” “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2”) wrote the script, based on characters created by John Hughes. David Dobkin (“The Judge,” “Wedding Crashers”) and Chris Bender (“We’re the Millers,” “Horrible Bosses 2”) are producing, with Marc S. Fischer, Jeff Kleeman, Toby Emmerich, Richard Brener, Samuel J. Brown and Dave Neustadter serving as executive producers.

The directors’ behind-the-scenes creative team also includes director of photography Barry Peterson (the “Jump Street” films, “We’re the Millers”), production designer Barry Robison (“Wedding Crashers,” “Pitch Perfect”), Editor Jamie Gross and costume designer Debra McGuire (“Ted”). Music is by Mark Mothersbaugh.

New Line Cinema presents A Benderspink/Big Kid Pictures Production, “Vacation.” Set to hit theaters July 29, 2015, it will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company.

This film is famous for Sean Connery returning to the role he made famous, secret agent James Bond 007. After making Diamonds Are Forever, he stated "never again" when asked if he'd ever play the role again. It's a fun remake of Thunderball, though not nearly as great as that film, and a staple of 80's cinema. Directed by the late Irvin Kirschner, famous for The Empire Strikes Back.

[FROM ME] Such a great film. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro introduced ignorant me to the fact that Hindi dark satires existed in the 80s and before. This film could definitely be made today, unlike what some might say, and I think I'd love it just the same. The climax of the film will need viewers to know about the Mahabharat to truly understand why the scene is a comedic riot, therefore, I suggest to brush up on your Mahabharat knowledge before watching.
