Sally's Way is Trinidad and Tobago's first feature length film for children. It premiered in Seattle at the Northwest Film Forum's Children's International Film Festival in January 2015 where it won the coveted Global Zoom Prize, awarded by a children's jury ages 8 to 15. The lead actress, Alyssa Highly won a Hope Prize for most promising actress at the Pan African International Film Festival in Cannes. Since then Sally's Way continues to be screened at international festivals including the San Diego International Film Festival, ANDKIds Global Film Festival at Notre Dame, Indiana, BayStreet in Ontario and LUCAS Kinderfestival in Frankfurt, Germany in its 38th year in 2015! Film synopsis: Finding her way in life Sally, a 12-year-old girl, orphaned by HIV/Aids, uses her ingenuity to help her grandmother. Set in the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean, the film has a universal message of how to grow despite the odds.
