Jack (Clive Owen), a struggling writer in desperate financial straits, takes up a job in a central London casino where he quickly becomes an accomplished croupier. But the work, together with its after-hours temptations, soon takes a toll on his private life.

Directed by Mike Hodges (Get Carter), written by Paul Mayersberg (The Man Who Fell To Earth), and also starring Gina McKee, Alex Kingston and Nicholas Ball.
