Max (Clive Owen) denies his homosexuality when taken to a concentration camp under the Nazi regime, and chooses to wear a yellow star denoting Jewishness rather than the pink one reserved for homosexuality. While there, Max falls for the out-and-proud Horst (Lothaire Bluteau), and in the horrific, de-humanised environment their erotic attachment sustains them, but also lays them open to attack.

Directed by Sean Mathias, adapted by Martin Sherman from his own stage play, and also starring Ian McKellen, Jude Law, Mick Jagger and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

A Film4 Production, released in the UK on 13th March 1998.
