Growing up in the wreckage of post-war Liverpool should be a grim experience for sensitive eleven-year-old Bud (Leigh McCormack), but Terence Davies' semi-autobiographical film is an ode to childhood bliss.

Written and directed by Terence Davies (The Deep Blue Sea), and also starring Marjorie Yates, Anthony Watson, Nicholas Lamont and Tina Malone.
