Aparan (The impostor) is a 1988 Indian Malayalam-language mystery film written and directed by P. Padmarajan, based on his short story of the same name. It was through this movie, Padmasree Jayaram was introduced to Malayalam Cinema . This movie also includes other stars like Mukesh, Shobana, Parvathy, Sukumari and Madhu.
Aparan has won Kerala State Award and Kerala Film Critics Awards for Best Screenplay, and Filmfare Awards for Best Director.
