Iqbal tells the story of Iqbal (Shreyas Talpade), a deaf and mute boy, who dreams to make it to the Indian cricket team. He is discouraged by his father, who hates cricket and thinks that Iqbal's daydreams are a waste of time. Instead, he wants Iqbal to help him tend to the crops and become a farmer like him. As Iqbal treads the path to his dream his thirst to succeed is challenged by life's harsh adversities. There is but one hope - an ever encouraging little sister and Mohit (Naseeruddin Shah), a village drunkard, in whom Iqbal seeks the only chance of victory. What follows is a momentous journey of bravery, pride and human achievement as Iqbal and Mohit embark on a dream chase.
