On a housing estate in the north of England, a devoted but unemployed father (Bruce Jones) struggles to find the money for a first communion dress for his daughter when his van is stolen.

Directed by Ken Loach (Kes, Sweet Sixteen), written by Jim Allen (Land and Freedom), and also starring Julie Brown, Gemma Phoenix and Ricky Tomlinson.
